Blood pressure is a key component to keeping you alive. If its too high, we call it hypertension, too low, hypotension.

Diastolic blood pressure

The pressure at the point when the ventricles in the heart are filling with blood

Systolic blood pressure

The pressure at the point when the ventricles in the heart are contracting and pumping blood out.
