Both these treatments are used in arrhythmias
DC Cardioversion
This consists of shocking the heart. In smaller numbers in can be used for things like AF and AVRT/AVRNT but at higher voltages, it is used in emergency situations where the heart has stopped.
Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator
Used in may different arrhythmias, it detects when the heart rhythm is going wrong and delivers a small shock to knock the rhythm back into sync. Sits under the clavicle with a wire to the heart.
