Differential Diagnosis

Visual loss is generally split up, at least with regards to a differential, in terms of time.

  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Cataract
  • Macular degeneration
  • Squint
  • Amblyopia
  • Cranial nerve palsies
  • Optic tract disorders (inc. stroke)
  • Papilloedema
  • Hysterical visual loss - this is the least important
