Scrotum

File:Scrote.png The scrotum is basically an outpouching of the anterior abdominal wall, hanging below the penis. The skin is thin, wrinkled and darkly pigmented, and underneath has a smooth muscle layer called the dartos muscle. The fibres of this can contract to wrinkle the scrotum, which is involved in heat loss.

Clinical Conditions

A special very rare cancer can occur in the scrotum, especially in chimney sweeps, but basically nothing really goes wrong with it. Don't worry unless a guy covered in soot walks in wincing.
