Signs on a CXR suggestive of malignancy

Staging

The TMN staging is:

Tumour

• T1 Smaller than 3cm
• T2 Bigger than 3cm or touching pleura
• T3 Chest wall invasion, lung collapse, central tumour, mediastinal fat invasion.
• T4 Malignant pleural effusion, Mediastinal vessels, Verterbra, within 2cm of the carina.

Distant Mets

• M0 No mets
• M1 Bone, liver, brain, adrenal

Lymph nodes

• N0 No nodes
• N1 Ipsaiateral hilar node
• N2 Ipsilateral mediastinal node
• N3 Contralateral hilar node
